Jazz in the Gardens has descended on Miami Beach, Florida again with an explosive line-up of talent that showcases a ‘jazz meets hip-hop ensemble’. Saturday night performances heated up the city with an eclectic mix of old school music and popular songs that kept the crowd dancing. Morris Day and the Time, Chante Moore, Will Downing, Robin Thicke, Jill Scott aka “Jilly from Philly” and the incomparable Betty Wright opened up this year’s festivities, giving festival attendees a broad mix of music by performing very familiar classics and a few chart-topping cover songs.
Jazz in the Garden takes place annually and has now become one of Miami’s premiere festivals drawing tens of thousands of fans from across the country. The event also features a poetry competition and conference workshops. If you missed Saturday’s performances, there is still time to purchase tickets for Sunday, March 19, 2017 where @Common and @LLCoolJ will close out this year’s concert series.
