Angie Styles is more than your average, Music Blogger.
When most kids were asking for toys, she was already asking for RECORDS, because CD ‘s weren’t invented yet.
Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam was the first record she ever owned #LostinEmotions to be exact.
When Angela graduated from High School in 1995,she attended Columbia College in Chicago a College of Arts.
There she took up Radio/Broadcasting and Acting as a major.
After attending a music seminar she met Tammy Tisdel a music executive who was very much so impressed with Angela’s drive an passion for music.
Tammy hired Angela as a intern at Sony/550 records in Chicago in 1997 in the Marketing Department.
There Angela worked closely with her mentor, grasping and learning as much as she could.
While interning , Angela stayed in the recording studio where she recorded many records before even turning 21 years old.
Being that she can sing and rap,she implemented both into her demo’s!
In 1997 Angela dropped out of school to pursue her music career in Atlanta. Tammy her mentor informed her that Atlanta, GA would be the Music Mecca within the next 10 year.
As we can see she was right.
Angela moved to Atlanta and met three girls two from the Bronx,NY and one for Gary, IN.
The four girls began a rap group called “Full Clip”
Angela’s rap name was “Ricochet ” which was a reflection her personality (All over the place)
The rap group did shows all over Atlanta “The Atrium” etc etc.
The group slit up due to undisclosed reasons.
To brush up on her skills Angela also attended the “Atlanta Broadcasting Institute” which was located in Marietta, GA.
That’s where she met “Tasha Love” the music director at V103 in Atlanta.
After that contact she began to intern at V103 with Tasha love & Porsha Fox.
Life and Love drove her down a different lane and she got sidetracked from her passion.
At that point she began working for fortune 500 companies in Corporate America.
Until one day she decided not to give up on what she always loved.
So in 2012, she decided not to give up on her dreams and created the blog WWW.WHATZHOTANDNOT.COM.
It only made since, in High School she received Awards for “Creative Writing.”
The blog was created to give great music a platform and weed out the good from the bad.
